** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

It doesn't look like there's a lot of tension, I can easily fit one finger under the tongue, I guess it mostly just prevents my foot from sliding forwards, which is what happens if I use the 3rd hole.

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

Hi there, I got myself a nice pair of Lowndes in scotch grain, and I really like them. However, the left shoe was a bit too loose even on the third hole of the strap, so I used a hole puncher to add a fourth whole. Unfortunately it hasn't come out at the same distance with the other ones. I'm...

They're on Dainites, but there is nothing under the tongue.. I'm sort of wondering whether it's an actual scratch/repair or rather a natural scar on the hide? I can't feel the bit underneath with my fingers as it's at the same level of the insole in the internal side of the boot, right above...

Thanks. Problem is, I'm not sure it's a second or just plain defective. I just don't want that to turn into a crack in a few years. Has anybody had any experience with this sort of imperfections on the leather?

Hi there, got a pair of Tetbury boots on eBay new for £280, but when they arrived I noticed this fairly big scratch on the left one, near the ball of the foot. They were advertised as new and not factory seconds. Is this going to turn into a problem in the longer term?

    Briefcase Appreciation thread

Thanks for your replies. Yes, to be fair I expected much better quality control too, especially considering that it cost me well over £2K. I found the pics of a heavily used vintage SAB in the same model online and the gussets still look much better than in my brand new one (see below), so I am...

    Swaine Adeney briefcase quality issue?

Hello everyone, I just received my new SAB Westminster Wrap UK and, while the case itself is lovely, there seems to be quite bad creasing/wrinkling on the piece of leather which forms the accordion holding the gussets together (pics attached). What do you think? Is this loose grain? It seems...

Briefcase Review -- Swaine Adeney Brigg Short-Strap Westminster (Filson Satchel comparison)

Hi, what’s the size of this bag? The listing on SAB seems to say it’s 18 inches large, but it’s rather unclear whether they refer to the UK or US version. Thanks!
