Classic "high-rise" pants
If all I was trying to do was stand at a dress party, and look snazzy, sure. But for sitting, and dance parties, I would prefer something with extra space. :plain:- MonVert

11.5" Front rise is hardly "High Waisted". Actual waist pants would need at least a 14" front rise. Remember that your waist is around your navel. P.S. I see plenty of 12" rise pants meant to sit on your hip, and I can guarantee you if I tried to pull up such pants to my natural waist...- MonVert

Well, my suggestions for you would either be... The Dehner Tank Boots (Non-ME) with a Nitrene Sole by default. For a slimmer profile. If you drape your pants over them... Who is going to know otherwise? Unless by "Military-style" boot you think of a chunky lug sole. Also, and this may just be my ignorance speaking, but how does shifting gears shred your boot? You aren't supposed to be using the tops of your feet...- MonVert

Dehner makes oxfords, Wesco makes something similar, And no simple bespoke dress shoe costs over 1k. Unless it's using some extremely rare leather, with extreme ornamentation. Seriously, it's leather, and you don't even need to use much to make a simple dress shoe. The choices are only as...- MonVert

This is false. There are still *plenty* of US Shoe makers. Even in Los Angeles, you have dealers for Dehner/Wesco in a few different places. You, probably, also have a Red Wing Store/Outlet somewhere down there. This isn't even counting local bespoke shoe-makers still plying their craft...- MonVert

Extra price for a last...? Oh, you mean if your feet don't fit any available last? I know Dehner will carve a new one if that happens, but I'm not too sure about Wesco. Both will keep your measurements on record. Or did you mean something else? Also, both companies list their prices...- MonVert

Depends, really. 10" Boots are going to look weird in shorts. So the military-style boots may not be appropriate. You could try a Jodhpur. That might be a safer bet, if you want more of a catch-all. Either way, they do have an online catalogue of base models.... So come to your own...- MonVert

Mmm, Dehner Boots has a few dealers in San Diego. They can certainly make a proper boot/shoe for your foot, for a fairly modest price, if you wish to go down that road. You could also try Wesco, but you would need to phone in to ask about dealers. Price for either may be out of your...- MonVert
