    +1. I think a good rule of thumb is somewhere between 1/3 and 1.2 of the neck to shoulder width.

    Flusser discussed lapels in proportion to the suit, so the breadth of your shoulders should play a role in the decision. I forget the exact formula, but I believe he said the lapel should extend 4/10 of the distance to the shoulder. So the broader the shoulders, the wide of a lapel would look...
