What to look for in off-the-rack shirts to have tailored?
The non-iron slim-fits? Yea, they aren't slim enough for me. I'm a 16x32 with a 43" chest and a 32" waist. I have to get all of my shirts "fixed up" and really should just start going MTM.- JBird

From what I read, the non-iron variety can't be tailored due to the construction that makes them non-iron? I've had all of mine taken in at the sides and haven't had any issues- JBird

Why are there no suits for very large drops?
It's the pants that are the problem. Recutting is expensive and often not flattering, if doable at all. I agree. Another point to this is that the slim suits are also cut for chicken legs. Sorry for the tangent on jackets, I just got offended when they implied people that go to the gym don't...- JBird

Why are there no suits for very large drops?
Just get the slimmest suit that fits you in the chest and neck and have the waist altered to give the athletic cut. This shouldn't cost more than $100. "Slim" doesn't equal "athletic". Slim suits tend to have skinny arms and don't often fit over the bicep/tricep without being too tight. I tried...- JBird
