suede shoes - post 'em here!

Mark McNairy's Dirty Buck Suede Boot ( made by Sanders & Sanders UK, changed to thicker laces for a more rugged look) just can't resist the clearance sale of these 2 months ago...not bad for ~$200

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Yeah, I tend to agree on friction being the trigger. But the root of the problem probably lies in the dyeing/grain pressing process/the leather dye used by Horween. I happened to have quite a few pairs from Carmina and shoes made with scrotchgrain leather from other shoemakers. This chukka ...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Mr. Six, I've got the same hatchgrain chukka as yours. Similar discoloration issue though probably less prominent than your pairs. I've tried to cover it up with some reddish brown shoe cream applied over the area followed by a thin layer of neutral polish. It turned out to be quite acceptable...

Lovely, apart from the inevitable crease they look much like new! Those shell's peculiar deep shine was very well restored. That manager really know what he's doing

Oriol, welcome here! (well, I'm sort of new as well X) ) Would you mind showing us a photo or two of your black Shell, "officially renovated" by the Carmina's manager in Paris? And what sort of machine is it he used to remove scratch for your shell? Would very much interested to see how they...

The standard cognac double monk and its maidan voyage after polishing the toe cap and the strap. Very fine grain and smooth calf leather, it didn't take much elbow grease for a mirror shine. Carmina FTW!

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

'cause 019 and 025 are different lasts( first row of the pict below). Just that both your Eton and my Embankment are loafers, so I supposed Loake did that "auto size down" thing for both....

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

I've the Loake Embankment (025 last) loafer. Like your Eton, they're at least 1 full size smaller than what one would consider true-to-size( i.e. 8F loafter last = 7F non-loafer last) According to Herring's description, they're made deliberately so, probably to minimize heel slip after breakin...

Skoaktiebolaget – Enzo Bonafé, Saint Crispin’s, Löf & Tung

Sleek & sharp! The aesthetic as to how the toe cap shape always remind me of the Ferrari Enzo. It'd be perfect if they can trim down the outsole a bit and skip the eyelets though

Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Thread (including reviews, purchases, pictures)

Stupid me! can't think of BE having a tumblr presence there, thanks a lot! End up finding quite a few pictures of those navy blue pairs. Interestingly, some are plain navy in color while others seem to have some sort of antiquing with black dye around the toe area and near the outsole. maybe...

Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Thread (including reviews, purchases, pictures)

Would anyone kind enough to post picture of any G&G pairs made with the navy blue calf? I've tried searching google picture for the navy calf but still not sure how close the navy blue color to that of the black calf.... I am conceiving a pair of wigmore made with navy blue calf and black...

and with a ridiculously reasonable price tag, just like any shell from Carmina.............but the question is how long can this price discrepancy last?
