**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

It will do In 2015 Converse introduced the Chuck Taylor II which provided a removable, cushioned insert, dubbed Lunarlon. A couple of years ago Converse scrapped the Chuck II in favor of their latest, the Chuck 70 which has a thicker sole and an even more cushioned insole. I swear by them...

Any hope to alter this jacket?

Yes. Or rather no. Meaning, damn good fit as is. Swell find. Leave her alone and wear it well.

    MC General Chat

I don't get this Stuff can look terrible all on its own, but I don't see how a white shirt can make anything look more terrible. Okay, so I'm a big fan of white shirts, so white you should be wearing sunglasses when you get near me, preferably with starch, the shirt not the glasses. Few things...

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

Generally speaking, a jacket will measure 2 inches larger than the stated size. For example, the pit to pit measurement on a size 38 should be 20 inches, doubling to 40. This extra 2 inches is called  ease, it's so you can actually move in the jacket, or simply get it off and on.

    Taupe suit

Bully for you. Guy is asking about wearing a taupe suit to a desert summer wedding. Sounds great. Get it. And cans of Right Guard and pray for scirocco. Back home use the top as a summer stand-alone, save the pants for another day and pair with polos, henley's or long sleeve dress shirts with...

The 2023 Allen Edmonds (AE) Appreciation Thread

Nothing wrong with gray socks, if that's what they are. Gray socks go with everything. I own one pair of black and 52 of gray. I have a question about your photography. Are you wearing a suit? The jacket comes across as gray, the pants photograph black. But maybe it's not a suit. If it is...

    The best Oxford shirt

There's a lot of stuff you as a 76-year-old may not understand, and maybe some of it should be kept to yourself, to avoid being thought of as dim. I know about this. I'm 78.

    Winter Overcoat

This is a Balmacaan (raglan shoulder, Ulster collar) of Harris Tweed being sold currently on Etsy for the ridiculously low price of 40 bucks. Seller says it's in great shape but has hanger bumps. No wonder, look at the hanger (a Balmacaan needs a special rounded one). Whatever, the bumps will...

Double Breasted Blazer - Fit? Is it crap or good - Moving buttons on a jacket

You are the definition of a brat. You know nothing about tailored clothing, and the photos you posted show that. The jacket looks awful. Come back when you get into your 30s and have a chance to savor the opinions and knowledge of someone besides yourself.

Double Breasted Blazer - Fit? Is it crap or good - Moving buttons on a jacket

Tell yourself whatever you want, but it looks bad. Worse is the button placement in relation to the vee that forms when your jacket is fully buttoned. It, the vee, must fall equidistant between the two button rows. Yours does not. It looks yanked to one side, which it is. That is not how you...

    WAYWRN: Classic Menswear, Casual Style

How so? Patch pockets, and heavy wrinkling at the elbow show that the jacket, a nice one, may be linen or cotton. How much more casual do you need?

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Why is it incumbent on the reader to decipher (and giving up, ask) what a poster means when an abundance of initials are used? (You were sharper than me in deciphering wsl/c). Whatever, this thread's about showing off clothes, sorry for the detour.

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

You're right. I assumed once it was discovered you could actually speak your post (as I'm doing now into this cell phone) that you wouldn't bother with typing anymore. Personal choice, mine, but I guess not for everybody, as you point out.
