If you were to do something like a brown donegal suit, the coat and trousers could be worn on their own - think of the trousers with a cream Aran sweater.- circumspice

Advice on where to begin
How well does RTW stuff fit you? A 42 coat and a 33 trouser would imply a 9 inch drop, which may be hard to do in RTW - the trousers may need to come in substantially. You may be wanting to do something MTM - No Man Walks Alone might be a bit higher than you are looking to spend, but will come...- circumspice

I think I wear pink more in FW than SS, so my linen stuff tends to be blues and whites. Have some more saturated chambrays beyond the staple sky blue stuff. I don't own a white oxford, I don't think - Boston winters tend to be so dark, I tend to reach for color in the winter.- circumspice

Brown oxfords are becoming increasingly arcane - young d00ds starting out would be far, far better off with black captoes, and beyond that, some rotation of loafers/derbies/chukkas/Chelseas for the increasingly non-suited world we live in. The Official-ish DC Thread
I have slightly long arms for my 6ft flat frame, which means I have to stick with their NY fits for enough sleeve length on a 16 or 16.5 neck. The NY slim is not all that slim - their DNA IMHO is Ivy inspired vibe, not #menswear. So, expecting the shirt to fit like some Italian RTW is likely...- circumspice
