Two pairs of shoes today - a pair of Alden double-sole cordovan derbies..... Congrats on the Aldens. I've only ever found one pair of Alden shells here in Chicago, but they are not as versatile as these. I've always been surprised how few Aldens I see here. Wow, that's a surprising reference point. I liked it more than CfD (which I read once a long time ago). It's also very different in sensibility than CfD. Chicago's got a different dynamic to it and since I'm in the city proper, I don't have access to the nice suburban thrift stores (and I live on the wrong side of town for the stores that are in the city) What side of Chicago doesn't have thrift stores?
