    Help Needed Choosing Chelsea Boot

Any view on the "chunky" Chelsea, e.g. the EG Camden or Newmarket with ridgeway soles? I can't make up my mind on those. I feel like the Chelsea boot was supposed to be sleek and flexible (can be dressed up or down), and when you pair it with a chunky sole it is no longer a Chelsea but a sort of...

    Help Needed Choosing Chelsea Boot

Couldn't agree more with previous poster. The "luxury brand" boots like To Boot which I owned when I was much younger have a relatively finite lifespan compared to well built shoes like AE, C&J, and EG.

    Help Needed Choosing Chelsea Boot

I'm going to piggyback on this thread and ask: what use for a black Chelsea boot? I'm enamored with the EG Camden in black Utah but haven't pulled the trigger because I'm not sure what I'd wear it with. I've looked at the model with thin rubber soles to pair with trousers at work, and then the...

Boots Boots Boots - For Boot Guys Only

Relatively new member here but this looks like the right thread for my question: What does the group think about the "chunky" soled chelsea? I'm partial to EG, and own a couple Galways and a pair of Shannons but have been looking at getting a pair of chelsea boots. The closest thing I own...

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

I have a pair of Piccadilly in this leather and I love them. Slightly softer than their calf but not soft. I’ve only had them for a year and wear them in medium sized rotation but I suspect I’ll get decades out of them.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

I couldn’t agree more. Both of my Galways are on the 82 and it looks incredibly smart and fits well too. That last works for me in the Galway.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

The sale seemed decent to me. I picked up a pair of the Shannon’s in redwood and Chelsea’s in burgundy on the 202. With the exception of my Galway’s, all my EG’s to date are dark oak (dover, Shannon, belgravia etc) or black so it’s time to venture out a bit. I love my dark oak Shannon’s so...

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

I have Galways in both these leathers on the 82 last and love them both. I haven’t seen or worn Galways on other lasts but the 82 is in my opinion perfect. Still pretty rugged but refined enough that it turns heads and can be dressed up or down. Perfect for about town with a pair of jeans.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

So I wore my 82 last Chelseas again to work today. On my feet all day. They felt quite comfortable - probably the 12th time or so I've worn them. I think they are finally "breaking in." I reached out to EG some months ago to ask about the lasts and widths, and based on what I told them (which...

How does that last differ from the 82?

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

All - I was hoping to get some sound advice from those of you who have been wearing EG's a long time. I am a relative newcomer to EG's; only recently has my income risen to a level that I feel I could reasonably afford these shoes. My foray was not without misadventure initially. My first pair...

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

Speaking of belts, can anyone recommend a high quality american alligator belt that approximates EG dark oak? I have a bunch of W Kleinberg alligator belts, both matte and glazed, but the cigar color is too light and the chocolate color is too dark and to my knowledge they don't have anything in...

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

Yes I have remarked in my exploration of this thread that @nishant has clearly mastered both. I'm surprised EG hasn't hired him yet. Beautiful color - probably better suited for the warmer months. It looks really nice on those Dovers. Mine are dark oak but love them so much that I could easily...
