THE OFFICIAL ALDEN THREAD FOR 2020 - SHARE REVIEWS, SIZING, ADVICE, AND PHOTOS.

Wanted to get this thread’s opinion on snuff suede vs tobacco chamois roughout on a plain toe blucher. I know higher quality suede that Alden uses is super tough, but for all-weather conditions, is it usually a better move just to get tobacco chamois roughout?

Anyone have experience with both the 145 oxfords and the derby patterns? I own both Withered Fig 145s (mushroom and horsebutt crust) and the 3sixteen Red Dogs on Christy, and they are all super heavy. Kinda not feeling the "chopped boot" look any longer either. I'm considering a couple of...

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2020 - News, Pictures, Clothing, Accessories, etc.

I might know the answer to this, but I'm looking for a casual derby shoe that is easy to wear throughout the day and in different situations. Maybe could transition from a business casual workplace to a bar, and just around the house in spring/summer. Was thinking about these suede Brooklyn...

RM Williams Boots - Everything You Wanted to Know

Has anyone tried the RM Williams Sneakers? Admittedly they look massively overpriced and it's not clear to me if I could get them resoled/repaired if needed, but I can't find a ton of other sneakers in this style. Now that I'm in dad mode, chelsea boots are a little less practical when running...

I don't disagree with you at all. I was just saying anyone who wants a roughout/mini-ripple sole and doesn't necessarily care about the material and construction specifics might look at a $500+ premium and wonder why they'd go with the Viberg version.

Don't get me wrong, I still think Viberg's rendition looks a lot better and clearly the materials and construction are higher quality, but...wow, Oliver Cabell, shots fired. They're doing the stacked leather midsole too although it's blake stitched. If I'm an entry level boot buyer, I'd slap...

That makes a ton of sense, thanks. The dynamic of being a Viberg retailer must be challenging. You know some of Viberg's footwear are going to be complete duds, but you need to keep a relationship to keep the stalwart makeups that your customers love. But you have to take some risks because...

When stockists collaborate with Viberg on custom makeups, if they don't sell particularly well - do they go back to the sample sale? Does the retailer assume all the risk, or does Viberg take some? I understand custom makeups probably brings shoppers in and creates a buzz for that retailer...

Viberg Boots - Reviews, appreciation, news - share yours

I know this is more of a generic leather question, but has anyone compared Aged Bark roughout versus snuff suede? I know roughout versus suede characteristics, but I'm more curious about color. I'm considering the Viberg x Withered Fig Marvingtons, and just trying not to be too duplicative...

Thanks all - follow up question on unlined boots. For those who have lined and unlined, do you notice any real difference in breathability in summer? I see a ton of brands advertising unlined loafers, chukkas, etc. Just wondering how much the lining actually makes a difference.

Does Viberg have any unlined boot makeups out there? I've heard the lack of a kip lining makes a pretty big difference in summer, just curious if there's anything out there that's been done or it would have to be a MTO.

Has anyone heard if Viberg is doing an alternative format to the sample sale this year? I have to assume they need to offload samples, unsold items from .com, etc somehow.
