[I'm doing a big closet purge. Check out my other listings. Happy to do discounts for multiple items.]
The SEH Kelly heavyweight crewneck, a staple of their collections, is ten-ply, which means it is preposterously thick. It is hand-made by a single knitter who controls the quality and tension of the stitch on an old and hand-operated contraption. It is also fully fashioned, so the sleeve and body are individually shaped and engineered — just like a tailored jacket — to achieve three dimensional shape. This demands knitting expertise of highest order.
The density of the sweater does not come at the expense of comfort because it is made with superfine lambswool. Because the knit is hand-linked, it achieves a soft, seamless finish. The neck, hem, and cuffs are all rib-stitch, which keeps them nice and tight. The cuffs are turn-back.
There are several different shades of blue and grey yarn at play, knitted into a tuck-stitch, which has a layered, textured appearance.
Retail around $420. Excellent condition, worn just a few times. Size medium.
Shoulder 17.25; Chest 21.25; back length 25; sleeve length 24.75 (note with these measurements that there is some stretch to the knit).
Asking $275 shipped CONUS.
