Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

Yes, I really like it compared to “regular” linen. Less wrinking but still looks casual.

Very nice! I love the Hove as well.

15 min warmup 12x 400 meters at 6:15/mile 15 min cooldown Easy miles for the rest of the week until Saturday’s torture fest.

How many miles did you run today?

12.3 miles, 110 min. Starting to get pretty hot for these long runs.

I have a suit in Solbiati linen. I think it's Art du Lin peached linen. I love it. I don't know if it's a cotton linen blend or what, but it it doesn't get overwrinkled like pure linen tends to do and is more comfortable. It MAY be a bit heavy for a jacket meant for very hot weather but for...

I don’t like lazy man shoes either. I’d much rather go with a full strap loafer if I wanted to go laceless… I think they look better.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Sounds like you’ve made up your mind. Unless you are a collector, a watch that isn’t comfortable to wear isn’t worth keeping no matter how much you like it (hello, Lange Cabaret.) That being said, is the GMT that much more comfortable than an Explorer II?

Lengthy prison sentences for theft instead of pretending it’s a victimless crime perpetrated by a down on his luck Jean Valjean. You don’t just wake up one day and rob a watch store as a one-off. These crimes are committed by repeat offenders. Locking them up for a long period of time does, in...

15 min warmup 15 min at 7:00/mile 2 min jog 5x 1 min at 6:00 - 6:15/mile and 2 min jog 15 min cooldown Pain does, in fact, exist in this dojo.

    Ongoing Bespoke Projects

I don’t think there is a convention, really. Twice a year is not unusual for a traveling tailor, I don’t think. I prefer (at least) two fittings but ultimately the final product is what counts.

I’ve never tried Standeven. I think 8 oz is pretty flimsy for tailored trousers… But, I don’t live in Florida.

I think I might have found it. In my usual fashion, I’ll internally debate it until it’s no longer available.

I think these are all great choices. Fox Air is 2-ply and 10 ounces; Draper’s 4-ply is 13 ounces. I think the Draper’s will hang and tailor better, and be crisper. Since this is for trousers and not a suit, I’d lean towards the Draper’s, but it depends on your climate. I think your color...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Having two watches that are nearly identical and always preferring to wear one over the other seems like a good reason to get rid of the less favored one, unless you’re a hardcore collector, or in the habit of wearing multiple watches at once (and with two GMTs that’s four time zones!)

I know what I'm supposed to say... but I prefer the look of the GP. That is probably a terrible financial decision.

Ha ha I agree completely. But I think the origin of the blazer suit was based on this neuroticism. Then again, so is my dislike of patch pockets on suits so I'm not casting stones.

Caccioppoli is my favorite single source of jacketing. Dedicated spring/summer and fall/winter books, get refreshed every year, and a great mix of solids and interesting patterns. Harrison's Moonbeam is a close second but I don't know if it's undergoing an update or in the process of being...
