    The Home Ownership Thread

Townhome down the street from me, which I now know from the listing photos is identical to the unit I'm in (other than some different cabinet/counter/floor colors) went on the market and sold fast. But it went for an amount that I think is pretty reasonable and is a full 20% less than the way...

Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

Same exact thing happened to the Michigan Judge whose zoom court I watched a bunch of during covid. How dumb do you gotta be?

    The Home Ownership Thread

There’s a pretty sick non-updated property on the market now. But it is like 25% more than I want to pay, and it would probably close right when my wife is due leaving neither money nor time to start making those updates. But it is pretty neat, has a big extra garage/shop that might convert...

Home Made Sausage, Cured, and Smoked Meats

Yeah, I've been "meaning" to buy a smoke tube or smoke maze ever since getting my first electric vertical smoker...just haven't actually done so. Although honestly, with the Bear Mountain pellets and the right ambient temps, I got sufficient smoke here to the point where I don't wish I had a...

Eh, that’s just perspective. My biggest bike (which is a bit longer than the one in the picture) sticks out past the body, but it is still not as wide as the mirrors.

Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

My 25+ foot commute is pretty brutal. Rural area so no traffic, but sometimes there are wild beasts blocking the way which can double the commute length if you encounter them. This one is just waiting to jump out and cause an accident

What TV Series Are You Streaming Lately?

Wife and I both sort of independently decided that we don't want to keep listening to the audiobook. I'd rather see where the show takes me, so we're not going past the end of S1.

Those were basements (or at least bottom floor on a sort of split-level or half-basement setup). The first one's main floor is in the spoilered post and actually has some very nice ceilings (and some really ugly carpet and couches). And yeah, as a Midwesterner, tiled ceilings were all over in...

Depends on the size I guess? Starbucks ain’t buying their locations and in fact they are a major target for RE owners (who think they win the lottery to get them as a tenant). Office space is also much less frequently owned (other than like…custom built headquarters, which have similar...

Home Made Sausage, Cured, and Smoked Meats

Damn, $200 foot a single probe and it doesn’t do WiFi/internet so you are limited to radio range? I know they are trying to advertise that as a stability feature, but the chef IQ is both Bluetooth and WiFi which seems pretty robust. Just seemed nice for long cooks to be able to see your temp...

Home Made Sausage, Cured, and Smoked Meats

Oh, and I thought the chef IQ was kinda meh for bbq. - the phone alerts didn’t have enough configuration. I want that **** to be able to wake me up with a legit alarm if air temps go crazy (like the grill flames out). - no consideration for putting multiple probes in the same meat. - the...

Home Made Sausage, Cured, and Smoked Meats

First brisket yesterday in I don’t know how many years. Definitely first one on the pellet grill. Got the 2-probe wireless Chef IQ thermometer from Costco (and a prime brisket). Tried a bear mountain pellet blend with the hope of more smoke than the Kirkland pellets I had. Before wrapping...
