Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

Thinking of having a balmacaan made in solid charcoal and debating fabric types and weights. live in canada where it can get quite cold, but dont want to go overkill with a 28oz fabric. what is everyone's take on 15oz vs 18oz. or should i be looking heavier? Dacks and other Canadian shoe brands

How did these turn out? I ordered a pair but ended up returning them. Significant loose grain on one of the boots. Not normally very picky buy you could feel the outer layer floating above the rest of the hide. The good boot was gorgeous, though!

Agree. I’m not sure if the insole is present on the service boots. May just be a thinner sole. It’s the combo of the foam insole/midsole plus the vibram gumlite that makes the Ellison so comfy.

Rimowa - Anyone Have Experience With the Limbo or Topas?

Second this. I owned three topas, the large suitcase, medium suitcase, and sports trunk. Briggs and Riley or Travelpro Platiunum Elite more functional and cheaper with better warranty. Bottom line, rimowa is too expensive, but moreover too HEAVY for the capacity.
