No they are not. These are Loakes which are as mediocre as Church's shoes.

This guy's shoop sells bottom line shoes like Sander's, Bass, Loake .

Ugly shoes from ugly leathers. = Fail

P.S. This shop is as existing as shoe department at Macy's.

I suppose it's a balance between 'high end' and 'low end'. Too high, too expensive, too low, shop closes. Loake is perhaps a good option - there is no Loake shop in London, anywhere in fact. And most people, even though they may know little about shoes, will know the name Loake. Loake have also re-launched so they could become the de facto Loake outlet if they pitched it right.

Generally speaking, most people tend to take very little interest in shoes. You have 1) people who are not interested in shoes and never will be 2) people who take a passing interest in shoes and may buy a 'decent' pair for work of for special occasions 3) people who 'move up a gear' and want better - thinking about, looking into, excited by shoe shops 4) connoisseurs, bespoke.

Most people will stay at 1 or 2. I suspect numbers tail off dramatically between 2 and 3 and 4 is a very small number indeed. Therefore, most high street shops are best stocking Loake, Barker, etc with a few 'high end' shoes thrown in to wet the appetite and hook in 2, 3.

Those shops with the best location - think The Natural Shoe Store can get away with a 'pick and mix' collection. Risky anywhere else. This isn't really do do with money, though of course it's a factor. It's do with cultural attitudes. If you can afford to spend £3000 on an annual holiday, as work colleague did recently, then you can buy a pair of Loakes. No question.
