Make your girlfriend fix your pants... it is her cat after all. Afterward, arrange for the cat to meet with the bottom of a lawnmower.

tailors trick:
take a needle thread it with a long thread. a soft thread or yarn works best.
point the needle at the spot where the loop comes out,and push it through.
now draw the thread through slowly with your left hand.
with your right rub the thread and the loop together in a circular motion.
the idea is to to get the thread and loop to tangle. so that the loop pulls through.
once some of the loop comes through you can pull the rest from the inside.
you can just let it hang inside or knot it.

I see two potential remedies to your situation:

(1) Explain to your girlfriend that, given the danger her cat poses, you have no choice but to go without pants when you're in her apartment.

or

(2) If, like everything else in her place, the cat is white, encourage it to rub against your legs so the indigo will transfer to its fur.

If the jeans are on their own, I think the cat will win hands down.

Instead USE the jeans to strangle the cat. Jeans win.
