Fun! I'll play:

imitation buttonholes --> working buttonholes

=

stuffed animal --> live pet

Kolak film --> Kodak film

Olive Garden --> dal Pescatore

Kim Kardashian --> hippopotamos

The transformation is physically possible, but is it worth the cost?

http://www.lindsaytsews.com/2008/11/...-any-more.html That's a review but I was happy with it. It's not really an alteration place...more for embroidery, but they have a button hole machine towards the back that can do this for you if you'd like.

Thanks a bunch. Going to take some of my new jackets there once I get the sleeves right.

Since you're going to the tailor for that anyway, ask him to leave the vent of the sleeve open, leave the buttons sewn onto just one side (since it goes through the other side's hole) and just mark with chalk where the button holes should be. They know the process since most tailors don't have machines for button holes in manhattan and outsource it (from what one tailor told me). Then take it over there and get the holes made.

so even if there are faux buttons they can make button holes at JE? Im assuming they wont tailor the sleeve, just make button holes and then you have to go get the rest done?

I put up a post on it last year. When I went, there were no lines (I can't imagine the demand for button holes being so high that there's be lines) and it takes about 30 mins to do both sleeves. Just make sure to have the vents ready and if there are no actual vents I don't see why you'd go through the process of getting working buttonholes made since the tailor would charge quite a bit (I'm assuming) to make them.

I have all my sleeve buttons made functional when the sleeves are being done. My tailor charges 55.00 to do the sleeves and the buttons.
