I live in Boston? What's going on in my backyard?

FIRST AND FOREMOST... SHOUTOUT TO benjclark. (the "consignment store" mentioned below was his recommendation. Excellent... just excellent.)

[Preface: the following was taken "in the field" - please excuse pic quality, setup, etc.]

Either way, ye olde wife and myself are in OKC visiting family. Report from the field... day 1 highlights:

L-R, T-B:

Norman Hilton suit hanger: free just asked for it.
Oxxford Clothes suit hanger: free just asked for it.
Thrift Store: Dirty Bucks (made in Maine - my wife found them for herself). NOT AVAILABLE.

^ Sorry upside down.
Consignment Store: CHURCH'S CUSTOM GRADE BLACK WHOLECUTS IN LIKE NEW CONDITION. My size. NOT AVAILABLE.
icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Thrift Store: RLPL multicolored striped shirt.
Consignment Store: RLPL tie (free gift).
Consignment Store: BNWT (Nieman Marcus) Etro multicolored shirt.
Consignment Store: RLB(lack)Label brown shirt.

L-R, T-B:

Consignment Store: RL(Black)Label Brown shirt.
Thrift Store: "Air Force Type Flight Jacket A2." (Looks vintage, from an 80% off leather jackets rolling rack, $6 - worth a pickup?)
Consignment Store: 2x Robert Graham shirts.

* FULL DISCLOSURE: The items purchased at the consignment store were priced $18-$23 (except for the free RLPL tie). The Church's were SIGNIFICANTLY MORE, but they are my size, like new, and something I've been wanting (but still much less than retail and comparable to eBay - after haggling).

Also... some good vintage pieces for my Etsy shop (not really apropos for the thread, though).

Nice haul..

....now if you only had some Church's shoe trees to go along with them......

Size on the RLPL?

I don't hit the thrift stores much these days, but a few weeks ago I picked up a royal blue gingham BB shirt, just slightly larger than my size, $5. And then I put a hole in it pulling the tag off. :(

Yesterday: a white Jos. A. Bank that I ordinarily wouldn't look twice at, but the fabric is unusually good, not too far from Thomas Mason Silverline,, and the cut is decently trim. Just my size, and judging from the inspection tag, never worn. $6

A med blue Hamilton shirt, mild wear around the edges of the collar and cuffs, sleeves a bit long but otherwise good. $5

Thomas mentioned Hamilton shirts, are those any good? I see them fairly often especially in Southern CT.

After a few weeks of massive shoe hauls, it has been hard to get used to finding next to nothing again.
Did pick up these two coats.

Jesus, I'm gone a couple days, and there's almost 600 new posts! Well, before I go back and get caught up, I thought I'd share some of my recent finds. All except the jackets are available for trade or sale.
First , I can now knock a Brioni blazer off of my grail list. 100% Cashmere too boot!!! -Sold

Sulka tuxedo jacket. Has anybody seen one of these before? I knew they made ties but did not know about clothes. This thing is ****! One button, non vented with working surgeon cuffs. The odd thing is that it has flap pockets. Thoughts?

Zegna 100% cashmere reversible topcoat, camel/midnight blue. -Sold

Polo Ralph Lauren tweed windowpane suit, made in the USA, still debating whether to try and make this one fit as it's only slightly too big.

Sorry of the crappy pictures. Almost all of this was found at one spot, on one trip. I usually never go into this place because they jacked up the prices a couple of months ago, even though it's only a couple blocks from my house. Glad I did.[/URL]

how do you manage to photo and post SO much inventory? also how many packages do you ship out per week?
revolve.gif

You have a vastly different seller's outlook than I. I prefer to keep my inventory under 5-8 items at a time in 7 day auctions - do you prefer the 30 BINOBO outright? or are there instances where you also use the 7 day auction?

i've got this Lanvin Feather Suede on a 30 day'r right now and cant seem to generate any hits!

Interesting, I sold a Lanvin FS outright within an hour of posting for about $120 BIN a few months back. How much is it listed for? Mine was Blue and like a size 42R IIRC

Well, I stay busy that's for sure. I don't sleep much. I do auctions with BIN option almost exclusively. I ship between 30-40 packages a week. I typically average a listed inventory of about 80 items. I would like to double that, but I would have to quit my day job to keep up.

Hey, I have a question for those who might be familiar with Allen Edmonds. I purchased a pair of Sanfords off ebay, and when I got them out of the box to polish them, they looked a bit "off" to me. On further inspection, the brogueing on the shoes is just slightly different (the perforations on the left shoe are noticeably bigger in diameter than the right shoe despite being in the same design, and the cap toe portion of the shoes don't quite line up). They're obviously both Sanford models, and in the same color, though, but the rows of numbers inside the shoes are just slightly different as well.

Are there different lines of Sanfords (with different brogue styling?) or WTF is going on? It's not one of those things you'd probably notice on first glance (especially if you weren't wearing them), but it's driving me nuts and I'm going to try to return them (or am I out-of-bounds in doing so?)

Thanks for anyone who can offer an explanation.

Got pics? If you don't like them, and it wasn't explained in the listing, you should have no problem returning them.

so you ever get that feeling when you walk in a store... you know where something is just calling your name... then you get about halfway there and stop for some reason because you get pulled in a different direction? no? oh well...
In a store where I left a Hugo Boss suit and a Ralph Lauren previously, found a nice Oxxford suit (42R), and an even nicer Zegna (42R) too... I'm guessing someone didnt pick up their dry cleaning...
Oh the dilema... I'm a 44L, they're both 42R... grrrrrrrrr!
arrrrrrrghhhhhh! well of course I left them there for the next person... you believed me right? nope I have to admit, the thought didnt even cross my mind... bad I know... so now I have to wait til I can trade them
frown.gif

To make matters worse... found a Canali sportscoat in a different store... 42L... just not my day, bought it too... ho hummm...

let me know about them 42's if you pick them up....

Just this morning I was thinking to myself, where the hell is eazye? Nice to see you've been hard at work.

The RLPL doesn't happen to be a 32/33, does it?
