I don't mean to beat the Orvis outlet thing to death,

but one tip if you go -- you'll be blown away, ha -- note they carry some amazing high-end Brit stuff like Cordings and even some Barbour and other brands that will give you a thrift-store shart when you see. On the other end -- while they don't lard their racks with outlet-only diffusion crap like the Rack or BB's "346" stuff, they do occasionally carry some less-than-Orvis other brands. I've also seen some Hickey-esque downmarket stuff there too.

This lesser stuff isn't that common, most of the garments at the Orvis Outlet comprise the "good stuff."

Just keep your eyes peeled for the labels you know (Orvis as well as the "signature line", etc) from thrifting that are awesome and if there's an unfamiliar label...have that smartphone browser at the ready. WHen I'm there, I tend to go all buffet and want everything. You don't really want everything.

At least we have a retail store nearby... Might come in handy when trying to ID stuff.

Here's my thrift fit for tonight. I wore this SC and shirt combo a few week ago, and someone mentioned I should swap out my light colered tie for a navy, so that's what I did here. I also added my new Donnanna trousers and a pair of unknown English bench made bal's.

I like the colors and patterns, and love the socks as a part of the ensemble in particular. With how slim the opening of the pants are, I feel like you need a little bit more break. You might be able to get away with it better if they weren't so slim in the leg, but as is, they look a bit highwater-y.

Both are not available. Found in a higher end thrift store where BB ties are $8-10, Versace, Zegna, etc are $20+ The script RL tag is gone or this would have been 2-3x the price. From a large store where they have an OK idea of what they have by name. Also had an OLD ugly Zegna at the same price which was left. I know these were talked about the other day, but first time finding one. What do the numbers 1-15 mean on the blade?
The numbers on the blade correspond to each dye used in the tie. That's a really high end Zegna.

This is probably a long shot but here it goes...

Today I found a shirt by a company called "Born Rich" the tag is dark green with gold lettering. It's a really nice dress shirt, light blue with darker blue stripes, high spread collar, great fabric, thick as hell MOP buttons. The only other tag on it says "cent percent cotton". I can't find anything about this company whatsoever. All I pull up is garbage.

Anyone have any ideas?

Dang, you're really making me wish I had an outlet near me. They're all out on the east coast! :fu:

Another "Night of the Not Quite".
Lloro Piana cashmere that Nordstrom turned into a fused sportcoat? Pass.
Orphaned Southwick grey herringbone suit jacket? Pass
Unidentified brogues with handwritten size info and tattered tongues? Pass. (They were beautiful once.)

Clunky, weird looking models of Loakes and Grensons?

Pass.

Lubiam DB fused suit in scratchy sage fabric? Pass.

At least I got a utilitarian Chaps camelhair SC in a nice blue-grey herringbone that fits perfectly. Not worth flipping, but I'll wear the hell out of it next fall.

The size 48 Zegna sportcoat from yesterday is still available, by the way. Ping me if interested!
