If you're offended because Spoo, me, Brianpore, Nataku, whomever are eBaying some stuff that personally offends you....

Bros (this cracks me up the last day has been "Bro day"), am I out of line? Call me on it if so.

No problems here with eBaying whatever, but the frequent talk in the thread about eBay and selling (not from the people you listed, by the way) does grow tiresome. The eBay selling thread has absorbed a lot of it thankfully.

Then there were these two.....any ideas on the era of these? 1940's maybe?
40s sounds like a reasonable guess. Weren't those "painted" designs popular then? And they don't look as narrow as most 50s/60s ties I've encountered.

My first post got caught up in the "magical black box" for two days, and by the the time it finally went up it was buried under 300 new posts.

If anyone's interested, it's about a "Giorgio of Beverly Hills" cashmere SC I picked up at a thrift store. I think it might be Belvest, but I don't really know. post #63566

I'll post pictures soon of a pretty sweet Loden overcoat I recently thrifted, complete with detachable "cape." Hopefully, that's the sort of oddity that y'all are interested in.

This sounds very cool, definitely interested

Closed on our refinance last night.

Dropped 3.5% off our interest rate.

Our monthly payment now is $400 less.

Total interest savings, if we were to pay by the ammortization schedule (we will likely pay extra to pay off early), is $144,000. Talk about my best thrift find ever!
That is freak'n sweet! $400/month is just facking heaven! I'm planning on buying my first single family this year. Freak'n 1,300 sqft. houses down here cost around half a mill...

Congrats! We did this about a year ago. Not gonna go for an early payoff, though. We are of the school that tax deductible debt is good for you. As long as Congress doesn't mess with the mortgage deduction, we are in for 30 years.
+1 There will be hell to pay if those fat cats do!

Hi all, this is my first contribution to this thread with the hope of many more to come. I've thrifted a fair number of Brooks Brothers/Ralph Lauren PL ties before but this thread inspired me venture outside of that, so here's today's haul from the Goodwill on my way home from school today.

Zanella 100% Wool Size 32 Pants: Available

Canali for Bloomingdales Size 34 Pants: Available

Banana Republic Pants - Size 32 N/A

Banana Republic Pants - Size 32 N/A

For a total of $13.91. How'd I do?

who cares if people sell **** on ebay.....they put in the work t
o find it, its their prerogative.

as the kids say, i give zero ***** about whether or not someone sells their finds on ebay. my point was that if you post something on here and put AVAILABLE (which is an invitation for people to PM you about said find) then do some research before setting your asking price. if something goes for $100 on ebay, don't have an asking price of $150. i mean, it's a free country so everyone can do as they please, but that kind of poor research just makes dudes look mad stupid. and it wastes everyone's time.

the glorious thing about a free market system, is that these things tend to take care of themselves.

Recent thrift find: Loden overcoat. With detachable cape (not sure if that's the right term), traditional back pleat, and armpit vents. Was $30. 75% wool, 25% alpaca.

Every time I put this on, I love it more. But I'll have to be good and drunk before venturing into public with the cape part attached.

Dr. Watson, I presume? (I'd wear that awesome bit of loden.)
