That was a charity shop find only cost a £1 too, from a brand called ''armando'' around 90% percent of my wardrobe is second hand. That shirt collar is where its at for me.
The final Soul Shack from the STAR studio (but not the final podcast - they will continue) features a lot of really great 60s tracks, plus some 70s roots reggae and a few surprises. Kate and I go on for two hours, plenty of banter and about 29 great tracks.
You'd need two buses to get there! On a soul theme, the vintage clothes place I linked to a few days ago is a couple of miles away from a pub called the Navigation Inn. I have heard Johnnie Walker mention it before as it is a place where he DJed before becoming a pirate. In the autobiography he did for Radio 2 recently, he said the Navigation, in its day, attracted people from all over the country - he described it as being for soul/R&B in the mid-60s what the Wigan Casino was for Northern Soul. I was surprised - the village is really small, so an influx of revellers must have been quite a thing.
It was just a saying about places like that from years ago. I think I've had a drink there but I'm not sure. There is a train from Brum & Stratford though the station is about the size of one from Rod Stewart's layout. I don't suppose there were many late night trains.
I hope to get round to a "home studio session" early this coming week.Thanks. I enjoyed that and have started listening to some of the older editions. Trying to paint window frames while listening to Stax classics is not necessarily a good idea though
Whats the hold up?I wish I had a more specific wardrobe...
I'm young, I don't have that much disposable money and I dislike throwing stuff away, making me end up wearing the same rubbish I did when I was 15 as soon as my good clothes are all waiting to be washed againWhats the hold up?
