Goign to melbourne in a couple of weeks, any suggestions on good places to get watches that may be on sale? Actually, how about places with clothes that are on sale?

Although, this type of look seems fairly easy to pull off and pretty similar to my style:

This one seems as though it would be very flexible in that it would be appropriate pretty much all year round.

Any preferences/comments on the two? I know I have to bite the bullet sooner or later and just make up my mind but as you can probably tell I'm rather indecisive.

A jacket like the brown check is surprisingly versatile - works with a tie or more casual and it also works with lot of different coloured pants.

In fact its hard to find a colour of pants it doesn't work with. Even works with navy pants - when not much else does. Brown jackets pick up brown shoes nicely too.

And whats more not everyone has a brown jacket (or 4 in my case)

Check Monards on Collins st for watches, as for clothes just about everyone is having a sale, check out Incu on flinders lane, Acne at GPO (Bourke st mall) and DJ's. There are some cool stores on Little Collins st that are worth checking out.

I'm in need of a decent dry cleaner in Sydney. Any recommendations?

Also, I can't bring myself to buy an off the rack suit. Can anyone recommend a decent, and well priced, tailor in Sydney? Or do I have to wait until my next holiday to UK/HK?

All good points and exactly the reasons I was leaning more towards that style. Thanks.

There may well have been something interesting amongst the ties but I couldn't be bothered wading through the chaos to try and find out.

Yeh saw that jacket, nice colour on that one. Standout ties I saw were the brown and green six folds in a subtle basketweave for $70. Too bad i've already got them.

All i got were the calfskin belts in brown and black which i needed.

So how about Matt Moran's black tuxedo with electric blue lapels on Masterchef tonight....?

That jacket was brought to you by the same brand that gained some global SF attention for their double lapel tuxedo... George rocking a velvet dinner jacket from the same brand and looked quite good for a change. The other two in MJ Bale?

Non sartorial question are there any ipad users here? Wifi or 3G? If so what do you think of it? Practical? I know a couple of academics who swear by them in terms of functionality for use as a diary and adobe reading. I know in my line of work it would be useful (either that or a mac air) but somewhat unsure about it. Any opinions would be appreciated.

BNWT

To slim for me, but a warning to others... Howard Yount ain't vanity sized. Pair of twill trousers I bought had to be taken out an inch.

^^ Surely can't be slimmer than those slim pants from places like Saba.
