I'm a 28w and I find that almost no one apart from Primark and NEXT (very poor quality) in the UK stock trousers with a 28w.

Do I go to my local alterations tailor and get made to measure trousers or do I buy a nice pair of wool trousers from let's say Paul Smith at 30w (slim fit) and get them altered to fit?

Thanks once again! Hope you all had a good xmas and new year!

What is the best Shell Cordovan shoe to get from Allen Edmond?

That depends greatly on your specific needs, tendencies, and preferences. You know, things like the setting where the shoes will be worn, whether you love or hate loafers, whether you wear conservative suits an average of 6 days per week, or jeans 6 days per week, are your feet a size 14EEE or an 8B, all sorts of things like that.

Without knowing more about you, it's just not possible to provide a meaningful suggestion.

Why not tell us which shell cordovan AE shoes you prefer - and then explain why they're your choices (this is important) - and people can then comment and suggest.

I need to refresh some staple oxford cloth button downs (white, blue, pink, stripe). Is there anything that tops Brooks Brothers for the decent quality + nice collar roll + price ? A bit less inexpensive is great (government doesn't pay the big bucks.)

For reference, I wear a BB slim fit, 15/34.

Kamakura? Can't speak to the quality (though I've heard nothing but good things), but I've been in their shop, and can testify that the collar roll is comparable to Brooks, and that the pricetags have a little bit of an edge.

Is it unacceptable to wear navy chinos with a navy winter coat ? If yes I need to buy a graphite coat I guess.

It wouldn't look great. But I don't think a graphite coat is any better. How about good old camel tan? Classic winter coat colour; works with just about anything.

Yes try kamakura. 79 bucks and a great roll. Many different weaves available

Great advice. Looks ideal. However the main shirt I need (blue OBCD) is out of stock. Will wait and see. Until then here's hoping something good pops up on B & S.

You can buy a 29-30 waisted pant and have the waist slimmed.

I have one I like from Club Monaco; Lands End Hyde Park ocbd is good for the price I hear and available in a "tailored" fit.

+1 everyone elses' recommendations.

Mostly business casual. Definitely no boots or loafers so it leaves McNeil, Park Ave, Cambridge, Leeds and Strand as the most likely options. Relatively wide feet. In the end, I'd really want to find a style that does the cordovan material justice.

In no order and knowledge of how AE's lasts fit: Macneil, Leeds and Strand.

Why can't you wear boots or loafers? Is it just your feet?

I think it does boots the most justice.

Or get the strands.
