How exactly can i have this effect on my hair (pretty short maybe 3/4 inch) where most of it is standing up, at least the front and the rest casually blending into it. The problem I have is when the gel dries off it makes the hair look wet which looks amature and exposes the scalp which reminds me of what the hot shots from "cops" mostly have. I understand that this is what gel is suppose to do but I want my hair to look completely dry without any white fluff in it. Is it possible? Oh and I use Fructise gel.

This seems to work for me, but your mileage may vary. With dry hair, I run my hands under the faucet to get them wet, and then mold my hair to how I want it, applying more water as necessary, but without getting my hair exceedingly wet. As it dries, it seems to have a tendency to stay that position. I rarely use any gel doing it this way. Again, you may or may not have success with this method.

Hang on a second...I thought pomade was water-based and it did not dry. I would imagine that it gives a slick or greasy look to the hair.

I'm getting Bumble and Bumble Sumotech recommendations. Maybe that will do the trick.

i assume you are asian and have a course type hair?

here is what you do:

get a good quality gel or wax. i use this type of stiffener or white kind of a glue thing i will get the brand name as right now i dont recall.

right after your shower, run your towel through your hair and give it a good dry, but still damp.

run a dab of gel (mixed in your palms) across your hair work it on superficial only dont run /comb it through.

about half an hour later , when your hair has completely dried, work your fingers to feather and layer the hair as you break up the dried cemented gel bonds in your hair.

you will not have any scalp showing and will be a fullness and will keep in the shape you first fixed your hair, but in a more feathered/layered look.

you dont want a spike or a slicked back look anyways. for asian hair, a longer hair on sides, bangs, back ,with a sort of non uniformed look is the fashionable style these days.
