Not dumb, per se, but in a whole new class of bizarre: the "Modern" Pentathlon.

Though I'd have to say the 3000m steeplechase really takes the cake. 3km of what looks like a giant game of tag.

+1. If there is no objective scoring it is not a sport.

I think there should be synchronized track, where everyone crosses the finish line at the same time.

I would like to see competitive eating become an Olympic sport.

That 80 pound Japanese guy would win every event.

American Joey Chestnut is now the #1 eater in the world. If there's one thing Americans are good at, it's gluttony.

This has been a pet peeve for the last few Olympics.

Equestrian
Table Tennis
Badminton
Rhythmic gymnastics
Handball
Canoe/Kayak
BMX/mountain biking
Synchronized anything.....

The list goes on........

On a slight tangent, is anyone else annoyed by the network coverage of the Olympics? I have always found it frustrating that time is spent with personal stories of selected athletes, or fabricating nationalistic hype surrounding an upcoming event, or profiling the political history of the host country. I would rather just see the competition. I think we miss many interesting heats, or performances from other countries, because the networks spend too much time on this personal-interest fluff.

I have been told that this is to attract a larger female viewing audience, which has less interest in the actual athletics and more interest in these stories. I don't know if that is true......my female friends certainly don't think so.....Does anyone else find this annoying, or am I alone on this?

Not sure about the dumbest, but the gayest must be men's sled two seater.
