Will be a nice jacket. Enjoy the anticipation!

Yes sir. I can’t wait!

Per Carrie at Thurston Brothers: “We are crossing fingers for mid to late January delivery. It will depend on how many jackets Aero can finish before the holiday break.”

No, if you go on their website they provide the vincenza under their leather options for a £75+ upcharge

Thurston Brothers $125 upcharge for Vicenza.

Vicenza leather has been used by Aero since 2014 I believe, that’s why there might not be many images of well worn examples online. The experienced members of FL say, the first batches of brown Vicenza were different from the leather now. I have the feeling that this is a leather that will not develop a lot of patina, at least when compared to FQHH. FQHH however has more shine and you said you don’t like this. Let’s check again in ten years…

Ah, I guess it was a pretty vague question but I was more curious about the seal color than the actual Vicenza hide. I am not leaning toward the seal goatskin for the make up as the grain gives it a nice mate appearance and its aging is predictable with all the vintage navy jackets made from goat. That said, I am not wholly sold on giving up the bit of extra weight of the HH but considering a quilted lining to make up for it. 2 steps forward 3 steps back down the rabbit hole.

Question(s) for the thread: I am curious if those of you with non-zip hand-warmer pockets experienced and sagging or unsightly stretch?

Talking about allllll three. Simmons v. 3sixteen x Standard&Strange Chocolate Suede Type 3.

Damn thats a nice jacket. If [when] I get a second jacket it will definitely be suede but ill continue to work for the first now.

I’m curious as well. Non-zip hand warmers serve a nice purpose. Maybe TFL is the place to get this feedback. 4 zip front pockets is standard for the Aero Seven. There is option for non-zip hand warmers, but I wanted all the same pocket styles for the aesthetically pleasing look.

1. My Rick Owens Intarsia which is pretty much in Moto has none zip hand warmer packets, I’ve had no issues, no stretch either

2. Re zips on the pockets I personally prefer zips, because I actually want to store something in there it won’t fall out and will be more secure. Also looks cooler with hardware

Lewis Leathers has a new vegetable tanned cow hide that looks interesting. About 3oz and not dyed through:

I broke down and created an account over there to get in my questions. The 24hr wait prevented me form doing so and had to get it out of my system in the meantime. I am leaning toward 2 slanted zip chest pockets and zip handwarmers , as well. I think if i did a single chest pocket I could do without hardware but the lack of coherence with all four that would certifiably bother me (with all 4).

I hear you and that's good to know. I've found them to be useful on other jackets when running around with the dog provided I remember to zip them beforehand.

Specs as of now:
Aero Sheene
Seal Goatskin (possibly russet)
2 slanted chest pockets
Hand-warmer pockets- closed at the top
interior non-zip chest pocket
diamond pull hardware on front pockets
nickle hardware
V yoke
extended zipper, 1 inch gap to bottom
Undecided: side zip sleeve or change to button cuff
Undecided: lining: Olive cotton, Isle of Skye tartan (for fun) or wool backed quilted.

Nice Aero Sheene makeup so far. Isn’t this fun...? :-D

Atelier Savas started an MTM program today. You pick the style, leather, lining, and hardware. Then get measured up at a trunk show. Jackets are finished and delivered in eight weeks. Price starts at $2.5k, which isn't cheap, but its more affordable than their bespoke price (which, IIRC, starts at like 5k or 6k). Trunk shows have canvas fitting jackets.

The style is kind of southern rock 'n roll, almost SLP-ish. Designer/ tailor used to be a RTW designer for Billy Reid. I like their look.

I admit I'm not totally sure about the styles, just because it seems like you can get something similar RTW for much cheaper, but I love that they combine traditional craft with a more fashionable aesthetic. Their bespoke program uses toile fittings, for example, which is an old (somewhat) French method of making custom garments. I imagine this is as much about the process and experience as it is about the garment, in the end.

Some photos from their email, along with a few of the models (I think the red jacket is for ladies because of the darts under the bust, but the other two are described as being for men)

@FrankCowperwood - it hurts my soul. Having just bought the FCL type 2, wondering how I can possibly justify another leather trucker

But TBH I love the 3sixteen Type 3 design a lot and this seems to ring all the right bells.
