Hello,
I recently purchased this tie. At first really wasn't all that fond of the color but asked a few close to me and they liked it a lot. What really captivated me, though, was the baroque striping, almost 3-dimensional.

I am thinking I could wear this with either my dark charcoal pinstripe or plain tan suits with a white shirt but was wondering what other possibilities may exist. I do have a light grey shirt, but it will be some time before I pick up the tie so no opp. to post any pics at this time for critique. Sorry.

Yeah pretty sure. The seller I got it from has 100% feedback on over 3k transaction plus he wrote the eBay guide on how to spot an authentic Versace tie versus a fake. That said, I got a great deal because he is closing shop and trying to run down his stock.

Perhaps tied around the temples, Cochese style, during dollar pitcher and hot wings night.

Like the tie. Doubt it is authentic though judging by the label. Does it have "Made in Italy" on label? Is there a smaller tag listing material and other drycleaning details on inside lining? Given it is "Versace" line which is relatively new I have NEVER seen a black label like that. last time Versace did a black label was in laste 80s and early 90s with the "Gianni Versace Couture" black labels. Versace ties are amongst most faked on eBay...they even come with tags, serial numbers and proper retail store stickers with prices in US$ and complete packaging. I was shocked when i saw these on a Chinese knock-off site that was listed in this forum a month or so ago. Caveat emptor!

The color and pattern really looks dated. I think you can do better.

This is the first Versace tie I am purchasing so hardly an expert but I am thinking what Zubberah was describing is similar to a few years ago when Burberry started switching up their labels and everyone was freaking out. I have seen this label on a some ties offered by a couple other reputable sellers so it may be a late 07/early 08 introduction. In addition, some of the ties listed on Amazon by Forzieri (whom appear to be a reputable international retailer), seem to match as well. Unfortunately I won't actually have the tie in my physical presence for a few months to check the labelling due to the fact I am currently stationed overseas, so I primarily relied on my seller's rating on eBay. He was registered since '02 and has a 100% rating with nearly 3,500 feedbacks received (I believe almost exclusively neckties) so that was pretty comforting. He also wrote an ebay guide on authentic versus counterfeit Versace ties, fwiw..I am not really sure if those are screened or not so I really didn't put as much creedence in that as I did his feedback profile.

I also agree with PSG to an extent. I did feel the colors were outdated but the pattern got me man so I pulled the trigger. And at the price I got it at, even if it is fake, I'm really not out much more money than purchasing a OTR tie on sale at Macy's or Marshall's. The seller is trying to liquidate his stock as he is getting out of the business and shuttering his store.

So since I am locked into the tie, I was mainly hoping someone may have some complimenting color suggestions. I was thinking of playing around with combinations of white shirt/lt. grey shirt and tan suit/dark charcoal pinstripe suit but was wondering if maybe there is another logical combination I am overlooking. I have a wide variety of shirts colors to experiment with, but a little more limited with suits though as solid navy and a dark brown pinstripe DB are my remaining pieces.

I like the tie. I definitely see it with a charcoal or dark navy suit. Pinstripes are a plus.
