There is no way to justify flying private, as far comparing it to commercial, it does not make sense. However, anyone can justify anything including paying $1,000+ for a pair of shoes. I have access to and have frequently used both.

You entertain aft or below deck. You know it's 72 feet long right?

That is kind of bourgeoisie that you have to launch your own tender from the storage space by manually pushing, for that sort of sleekness and money there should be some sort of electric winch.

I'm fairly certain there is a roller and electric winch.

I feel like a boat salesman today.

Jet followed by yacht. To me the luxury of flying private is well worth the cost.

What is it going to take to put you in this Feadship today?

Shouldn't you be posting this on the "Elegant Living" section of the London Lounge?

I'd go for a jet anyday. I loathe commercial airlines and airports.

I'd rather telecommute from a place in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.

I'll bite what should I buy? I want fast and a shallow draft for the Florida Keys...I want to be able to go Cuba (when the Castro family leaves for all those clothing buys) from say Key West in a couple of hours or from Key West to Miami or Naples in a few hours. The Pershing is fast but the draft is too deep (4.9) - I need to be three feet or less. Sleep cabins are less important to me then entertaining areas.

We'll call it retirement planning.

I already sail-- which is not the same as what some of the above photos show. I have no captain or staff that's not on the boatyard payroll, and cocktail napkins might or might not be in stock.

There have been times when a jet would have been preferable. Certainly if anyone in your family has health issues, or you're in the habit of going someplace that is inaccessible by commercial air (or popular during school vacations, which is the same thing), it starts to look pretty good. My sister lived in Cornhole, IL and liked to go with her husband to Jackson WY. They bought a share of a jet. No yachts needed where they hang out. Now they live in Jackson, and will probably give up the jet thing in favor of some land.

Sir, I have just the Shallow Draft High Speed ship for you.

From Griffon Hovercraft, the 2000TD is capable of 40 knots.

You want shallow draft? This baby will fly over mud, rock, sand, ice. You won't even need a rental car.

And it's perfect for invading Cuba.

Now what will it take to get you into a Griffon Hovercraft 2000TD today?
