2007 Edward Green Sales Thread - Page 15

I ordered almost 3 weeks ago and my card hasn't been charged yet. I wonder if they lost my order.

Jermyn St is quite prompt with email. Why not do that instead of postiing here?
My first reaction was to wait and see. My order was of the impulse variety, and if the order is somehow unprocessed I'll just accept it as a sign from the Gods.

Chestnut....82 last

I ordered on the 27th. They billed me on 1/11 when they shipped.
I received an email this morning that said my order was going to be shipped out today!

I ordered the Malvern in Black & the Rye in Burnt Pine on the 202 last. I've been crossing my fingers that these will fit. I'll update once I receive my shoes and hopefully gets some pics to upload!

Just what I got 16520Man, what do you plan to wear yours with?
Wow, those Chelseas look great on the 888.

Thanks. Today with navy moleskins.

Doc, I think the 888 needs a little something on the toe, like at least a medallion. These look a little...clunky...to me:

It's interesting to contrast the pic above with the one of them on your feet. But I think they'll only look better with creasing and wear.

The 888 can be a tricky last. Sometimes it's spectacular, sometimes not so much. Really needs a toecap, I think.
I love toecaps and I'm desperate for an adelaide. BUT I think the style of the chelsea as a classic clean-lined shoe especially on the 888 is what it is and it has a certain elegance without a medallion or a stronger toe-cap.

Good idea. I have trousers in a similar colour (but different material). I tried wearing them with a dark grey suit but I don't think it works. You need a Vass oxblood for that, perhaps. They're probably too classical to wear with jeans, too., so that leaves odd navy, khaki and cord trousers, would you agree?

The 888 is a hard last to photograph. IMO, it is much better in person. I agree that a medallion might add a little magic, but then it would be a different shoe wouldn't it. It seems that the toe of the 888 ends up looking a lot like this in photographs: \\__/ When in fact it's actually more like this 3 Dimensionally: \\|_|/ The toe is actually more tapered and towards the top and squarer at the welt. Check out an 888 lasted shoe standing in front of a full length mirror. It's sublime.

This is an EG (RLPL) MTO pair in 888 last which was made for Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger in UK13E. My size, his loss my gain.
