Hi All -

Long-time lurker and have enjoyed this site for awhile. I'm hoping people can help me out with a specific question I have.

So far I've been purchasing several OTR suits (Canali, Corneliani, an Ermenegildo Zegna, and some Suit Supply) with some success, but I recently lost my tailor (who was very good) and would like to try either bespoke or made to measure suits. I wear a 46 jacket with a 32-33 waist, so almost nothing off the rack works and even with suits with an 8 drop my tailor had to recut the pants and basically work miracles to get things to fit.

I would appreciate recommendations for anyone in Chicago who can make full-canvassed suits (either MTM or bespoke) for under $1500-2000 per suit. I'm looking for something on the level of Canali or Corneliani but cut well to my body type. I have tried new tailors and am growing tired of their getting things wrong or whining about how difficult it is to tailor OTR suits to my body type. (Which may well be true, I suppose!)

Thanks.

I use Nicholas Joseph in Chicago. I've gone there for multiple years and for multiple items and always walked away happy. Lots of fabric choices.

J. Toor is another one that looked interesting to me but I haven't tried. Strikes me as a bit more fashion forward.

Good luck on your search.

Not sure your budget will work but Chris Despos is in Chicago. He is widely considered to be one of the best Bespoke Tailors in the US.

I think it may be worth checking out Adrian Park Custom, near North Ave & Damen:
http://adrianparkcustom.com/

He seems well reviewed, and current pricing (as of a month ago when I talked to him) starts at $800/custom suit, then goes up from there, depending on what type of fabric it seems. I have not ordered anything from him yet, but stopped in his shop to chat, and look at samples (and there are TONS of books of fabric samples). I've had a number of MTM suits made online, and am looking for something in person in Chicago, and will probably try him sometime in 2016.

If you go there (or find anyone else in Chicago) please share your results here. Would be great to have some current and ongoing information for Chicago here on SF (besides the mindlessly repeated "Despos!" for things that he doesn't even do).

Steed MTM is in that price range. They stop in Chicago 3 times a year.
