The woman whose voice can be heard across the Underground has been axed after recording a series of spoof messages revealing what she really thought of Tube travelers.
It's pretty funny to hear the same voice who says "Mind the gap" do other announcements such as "Residents of London are reminded that there are other places in Britain outside your stinking shithole of a city and, if you removed your heads from your arses for just a couple of minutes, you may realise that the M25 is not the edge of the Earth."

(You can hear all the clips at http://www.emmaclarke.com/fun/mind-t...-announcements )

Her employers shot back with this statement which simply must be the most passive firing I've heard in my life:
A Tfl spokesman said: "Some of the spoof announcements are very funny. But Emma is a bit silly to go around slagging off her client's services. London Underground is sorry to have to announce that further contracts for Miss Clarke are experiencing severe delays."

I saw tube and sack in your title and I thought this was another one of your "what Conne and I did this weekend" stories.

Those Brits are so witty.

The Tube isn't that bad. At least not to this occasional visitor to London who considers it one of the 'sights'. A great way to get around London - demolishes time and space and all that - and a great place for people watching.

What, you think I chose the thread title by accident? I was trying to get your sack-loving attention.
