That's a very interesting question. As you probably already know, the dirndl is the most traditional German dress you can buy. A dirndl consists of a bodice, blouse, full skirt & apron. While the ensemble may appear simple, it's comparable to an outfit that a contemporary businessman puts together in that it often requires skilled tailoring and can be cut from fine printed silk.

However, if you're looking for a higher quality dress and intend to have your wife wear it for years to come, I suggest that you do a deep dive yourself and inquire to a few different authentic German dress makers with a proven history of top box craftsmanship.
