I will always wonder what I could have achieved if these didn't exist . . .

I choose not to be sucked into that gossip factory called Facebook, therefore I have half of the addiction that you have. I still wonder how productive I could be without SF.

For me, it's the entire internet -- if it's not SF or Facebook, I'll surely find something else to waste time on. I remember before internet was big, I used to spend all my free time reading unless I was hanging out with friends/family or playing sports. Now, I spend most of my free time on the internet, and reading time is the one that took the biggest hit. When I was in school, studying/reading took a big hit -- I swear I would have been a Rhodes scholar if I was born 20 years earlier.

To pinpoint the most recent time-sucking device, it's playing Scrabulous on facebook. And on Mondays, reading the NYT takes a few hours.

I'll spend 4 or 5 hours with the newspapers on saturday night, but I don't see that as a waste of time.

We cut the cable at the new house. No TV, no internet, no land line. Amazing how much I'm getting done these days. And I don't miss the TV or the land line. Internet I miss, but not nearly as much as I thought I would.

So, at this point, work is my biggest timesuck. After that, running.
