Hello! I'd like a bespoke 3 piece suit no more than £1500, I'm live in Newcastle upon Tyne so I want to find one in Newcastle or nearby. I searched online and found following choices:

1. Higgins & Brown: Actually I didn't find much information about this, only few reviews almost negative.

2. A Suit That Fits: I guess most people know it, but I'm a little afraid the quality.

3. Mullen & Mullen: It's in York and I can go to there, but I don't know anything about it.

4. Peter Johnston: In Edinburgh, I found some information and it has a good evaluation, especially I know Peter Johnston trained at Kilgour. The only thing I want to know is the price.

All above are I found bespoke tailors so far, does anyone give me a recommendation or recommend any other tailors?
Thanks!

Why not speak with David Reeves, I gather he's from Leeds and does a lot of his MTM work there despite being New York based?

However I prefer to a bespoke, but I will think about this.

Avoid 'A suit that fits'. They frequently don't and it is just very basic MTM made in a sweat shop in Asia.

The Edinburgh man seems a good bet at face value, Mahon I good but does not fit your budget.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just go to London. It's only 2.5 hours on the train, and you're in one of the world's best cities for tailoring, and for £1500 is within the range of some very good tailors, including Sims & Macdonald, Graham Browne and Cad & the Dandy (the last being my tailor - their fully bespoke suits range from £1100 to £1800, depending on the fabric, or £1300 to £2000 odd for a 3-piece).

The only other really good option nearer you is Steed, who are Savile Row tailors but who work out of Carlisle. However their prices are probably out of your range. They do MTM / semi-bespoke starting at £950 (to around £2000) for a 2-piece but their fully bespoke prices probably start at over £1500...

Right, London always a good choice but I'm a student and afraid no much more time to go to London. And u know when it comes to Bespoke in London, all my mind is Savile Row, I don't even know other place.I think I will consider about your recommendations. Thanks.

If you get the low cost train fares (£15ish, 5 weeks in advance) London is easy enough. Being a student I'm guessing you'd also be fairly flexible on time to take advantage of the lower cost tickets.

WRT low cost London tailors, I can recommend George's tailors on wightman road as has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum. Am in process of having a suit made there and am very pleased so far.

Cad & the Dandy seems a great choice, reasonable price with appropriate crafts in different level, I think that is what I want. However, I also interested in Steed, but only with MTM. So which one you think better? Thanks.

Live a few thousand miles away. Supporting local can be very good. After all, some of them have a right to stay in business just as much as SR firms want to. Unless there is a good reason not to give them a try.

It is like giving rich people gifts. Isn't it the poor who are in need, and not the wealthy? Support the locals for some of them are worthy of their pay.

If you've got time (and money) to have a bespoke suit made, you've got time (and money) to go to London for a couple of fittings over the course of a few months!
