mosy from the picture they look very nice. Big question is are you happy with them? If you are keep them if not 50$ more can get you very nice Alden shell also either way good choice just comes down to personal preference. I have bought suits from them not shoes or boot. I would assume they are nice bud.

What I like about them over the Aldens is the color of the red. Color # 8, while stunning is bit too red for me. These almost have a black to them, like a very dark black cherry. I'm more concerned about quality...

I personally don't own any suit supply boots or shoes just there sports coats & suits which are top notch quality. They look ok & its educated, guess may be other gents give there input on them. But if you are having little concern. I would advice get some other high end brand that you will be happy with. Regardless you are spending big chunk of money at end of a day you got to be happy with them.

Any way to determine who makes their boots for them?

I previously asked them about who makes their cordovan plain toe blucher and they told me it was a company called Ortigni in Italy. These boots seem to have very similar construction so I would guess it's the same maker.

I don't know Ortigni but you might research the quality of their products or maybe someone can chime in. Have searched this forum for Ortigni?

there are a few old (short) threads that mention Ortigni. There are some positive words about it but no one seems to be too knowledgeable. Nothing very detailed.

Thanks C. Here's an OK pic of a mirror-finished sole:

^Yes and no. He made them custom, so while there aren't any boots ready-made, I believe he'd be happy to make you a pair.
