General question about shoes. does it make a difference for you if the insoles of your shoes has the retailer name? For instance, Saint Crispin's for *retailer name*. Does it add or deduct from the value of the shoes?

Personally I don't love it because I start to wonder is it the *exact* same shoe or not? In other words, are Edward Green for Louis Boston made to the exact same quality as EG?
I assume yes, but I always wonder.

I like it personally. Makes each one identifiable for the makeups, may add a bit of authenticity knowing "GTA Shoe Shine" carries "Vass Budapest"...

However they will be worn off after use anyways, so not a huge deal.

For resale purposes, I don't think it adds or subtracts any value in the secondary market.

Thanks CanadaCal. The authenticity factor and the good relationship factor as @Jaackytung mentioned are good points

This is true but I guess this only applies to shoe makers that have multiple lines. but then again, in the world of manufacturing who's to say that they are all made with the same exact quality.

Maybe have it as an option by default but allow people to opt out of it on MTOs?

The exact model is the VC1: http://www.nwknitwear.com/products/VC1 You may even recognize that picture from last years inclusion of the derby colour. Just for reference this is the exact email I got from Wanda at NW "Epaulet’s sweaters measures a little different, his sizes are two bigger than ours.  If you have a size 38 of Epaulet’s, it’s our 34, Epaulet’s size 40 is our size 36 and so on.The VC7 measures very similar except the sleeves are a couple of inches longer." The VC7 is their other cardigan model with the slash pockets. I enquired about both the VC1 and 7. Hope this helps!

You may have to email them to see if they have any picture of sweaters fully made up in some of the less common colours.

I'd never heard of Northern Watters before. Do you have any of their pieces? I'll be in Charlottetown soon and may check them out.

I do, I own two of their VC1 cardigans which I got through Epaulet last year with 3 more currently on the way. There are lots of details on them in the Epaulet affiliate thread if you search for "Heirloom" which is Epaulet's name for the cardigan. They posted a ton of pictures here: https://medium.com/@michaelkuhle/epaulet-by-northern-watters-sweater-pre-order-efe7b687cc41 of the various types of sweaters and yarns. I love the cardigans I own, they are super warm and incrediby heavy. Some of the heaviest sweaters I own, I really love them. Plus its nice to own something made in Canada, as opposed to the states or europe where we get most of our stuff from.

Interesting stuff--thanks for the feedback and the link. Sounds like I'll have to drop into the shop while I'm down east. The made-in-Canada aspect does appeal and I was wondering how these would compare to some of the stock at the Irish Design House in Leslieville.
