SotD: TFPB - Lavander Palm. Very dry, dusty lavander with a touch of citrus. Still not really fond of it. The drydown is a little smoother. Good longevity.

Won samples from ALZD, again:
SotN1: Montale - Leather Oud. Totally not my cup of tea. Harsh and pungent leather/mint and a little oud.
SotN2: Micallef - Avant-Garde. Quite unfamiliar notes -- iris and water lily. Balsamic notes and chocolate in the drydown. Don't like it a lot though.

Omnibus post:

1. Went to Neiman and Saks to try to find Infusion de Rose. The SA at Neiman told me that Prada took back their stock of that about two weeks ago. SA was very pleasant to me--which is not always the case at my Neiman, unfortunately--so I will have to buy something from her.

2. I checked out Rose Oud at the Kilian counter at Saks. Wow! That's beautiful stuff, and definitely my favorite of their Arabian Nights series. Also tried the Bamboo Harmony and Water Calligraphy from the new Asian Tales collection. Didn't like those much.

3. b1os, did you try the Memo Manoa yet?

4. I have learned that Infusion d'Iris is very hard for non-French speakers to say. Americans always want to pronounce French as if it were Spanish. I guess that makes sense, but the results are funny.

Yeah, I edited my post yesterday. It is too rich, sweet and loud (in terms of projection) for my taste. I prefer Prada's.

It certainly is rich, sweet, and loud!

Have you guys tried Jasmine Oud? It sounds fantastic but the jasmine was totally lost in the oud.

And from Incense Oud I hardly got oud but much more incense and rose. (anyhow, I like it a lot)

Edit: @L'Inc.. right, there's just rose/incense/pure oud from Kilian's Arabian Nights. Which line do you mean, HORNS?

Where did you try Jasmine Oud, HORNS? When I do a google search, the first results are you mentioning it in this thread. I can't seem to find anything about it.

Well, crap, I have no idea now. I looked it up and saw that there were no Jasmine Ouds By Kilian.

You know, I bet I saw "Incense Oud" and read "jasmine". Hell if I know.

That would explain why you didn't smell any jasmine!

I dont get the rose notes at all but i agree its good safe choice. 0n the other hand Kilian Pure Oud smells exactly like Attar you can buy for 1/10 the price in any ME bazaar.

Today, Mitsouko edp again. I guess I'm becoming boring, but I really do like this. I think my next purchase may be Jicky edp.

They carry a lot of stuff and they'll make you samples - except, in my experience, the pricks and bitches at the Tom Ford counter. That being said, what do you like?

HORNS's advice is good, as usual. Were you planning to go into the store, or were you going to order online? If the former, which NM will you be going to? (Not all NM fragrance counters are created equal!)
