Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 1038

SOTD: Essence of Vali EdP. I haven't worn this in a couple years, but I was running out the door and wanted a slap-you-in-the-face lemon scent...

I forgot how strong this is and was a little too generous with the sprays, but I got a whole bunch of compliments today, anyway. Apparently this is an "all-natural" fragrance, but the power and longevity makes me wonder. Not very complicated, and it's fairly linear, but there is a nice lemony-resinous accord with just the right amount of darkness. I might wear this again...

A short play I wrote:

A: Hey man, what are you wearing for your evening hours scent?
B: I will answer the question by naming Amyris Homme by Francis Kurkdjian.
A: Oh, ok. I was just asking even though I didn't really care too much.
B: Amyris Homme by Francis Kurkdjian, irregardless of whether you cared much.

It's a play; you gotta write true to the characters.

Johana by Keiko Mecheri. A crisp, somewhat bitter floral chypre.

MFK Lumiere Noire Homme today. Brilliant start, mediocre after that, then awful drydown. The drydown residue smells stale and sour. What a disappointment.

Random grab from my sample box today: Serge Lutens Chergui. Good choice for sitting in a bakery eating fresh hot cross buns.

SOTD: Vintage Azzaro Pour Homme. I gotta say again that the vintage is quite a bit different than the current version (more oakmoss, I'd guess), but strangely more quiet...

^ Funny, I was between that one and Tuscany. Ended up wearing Tuscany.
