I would like to comment also, but as I am not a native speaker (and far away from that) it would be more funny than useful.
Tim's videos are very good - the method is a bit different (cemented - goodyear), but the basis is the same.

Marcel, thank you for a wonderful video.

Wow , i am just amazed at how much hard work there is that goes into one pair of shoes. that sewing process looks to take forever. it tires me just to see all that you do there.

also, i can see where the experience and artistry and agility you need in your hands. that sharp knife cuts like butter across that leather, but i can see one small slip and you may have to start all over. but your hands move pretty fast and agile, you look to have alot of technical expertise.

this totally shows that a handmade shoes should really cost over a thousand dollars. i fully appreciate and dont mind paying retail asking price for a shoe like this made by artisan hands.

is there any way for a common person like me can try at making my own shoe (s)?

i am very interested in making my own , one pair. see how it comes out.

where can i find the tools used in the videos above?
are they accessible to the public?

where can you find decent quality sheet calf leather? do i have to go through some wholesale supplier? or something?

i assume the leathers come pre-chrome-tanned and so all i have to do is work with crust leather and polishing, no?
do you need wax polish and colored creams, and that is it?

or is there something else you need to chemically stabilize the polish antique job on the leather of the shoe?

is there a place i can find a decent looking last anywhere?

im very interested in trying out this myself one day.

+1. while I never will make my own shoes, I may be interested in making my own leather topys.

Those videos are awesome btw, did I miss the part when the nails come off after the upper is nailed to the last? Was just wondering how the last comes off from inside the shoes?

That other guy whose videos I posted sells a book about all this. (It's not cheap tho...)

As for a last, I would think carving your own would be part of the fun. And then your shoes would be bespoke!
