I need to find a moderately priced ($25-35) haircut in NYC. I work in Tribeca and could do anything within reasonable distance of the A or C. Preferably somewhere that will give me a stylish cut (i.e. not just a typical barber's cut). This John Allan's place seems cool, but I'm not in the mood (or financial state) to pay $51 for a cut.

Any suggestions?

If you can travel to the east village:

Neighbourhood Barbers on E9th just west of Avenue A.

$14 -- no waiting. Can handle every hipster-doofus haircut imaginable.

My friends who live in NYC say there are two things that are cheaper in New York than other cities: haircuts and taxis.
