Really depends on the shoe. I find the Budapesters to be super comfortable out of the box and they do not feel heavy on my feet at all. I also have a pair of JM Weston Hunt Derbys, sort of the iconic French gunboat, and six or seven years on they are still stiff as hell and heavy.
