i dont know what 'dressy jeans' means, but i think leather shoes look best with dark, raw or minimally faded jeans. no stonewashed or overly faded stuff, unless the shoes are also beat to shit.

My reasoning is related to the formality of the shoe. There is a spectrum of formality for each piece of clothing: Dress shoes: Suede loafers would be less formal than Cordovan or calf skin, Loafers less formal than brogues, Brogues less formal than cap toes, cap less formal than plain toe. Jeans are casual I would chose a casual shoe to accompany them. If you're choosing a formal shoe than chose an informal material (suede brogues). Leather jackets are not very formal. Belts, well a dress belt would look odd with jeans and I feel the same way about very formal shoes. IMO, simply searching for some congruence.
