Is the left shoe duller than the right? (It looks like the right shoe had something spilled on it)

Otherwise they look beautiful

I briefly owned this exact same shoe, although two sizes smaller. Sadly, the seller had listed them as a 'C' when they were C/E like these. At any rate, these are every bit the equal of Alden or AE shell longwings that sell for $450+ these days.

My limited experience would cause me to say that the Nettletons seem to run narrower than AE, but I'd hate for you to make a big purchase based on that.

these old american shoes (mostly longwings) are incredible. superb quality, so many brands have huge metal cleats on the heel, double leather, etc. I've found the fit to be almost identical across brands and a very good fit at that. The only criticism is perhaps they are a bit clunky in an american kind of way, but I find that an endearing old-man quality. I'm currently rounding out my collection, one in each color including cordovan and even white.

I own a pair of Nettleton shell cordovan saddle shoes and I believe they are slightly better constructed than my Alden shoes (finer stitching, softer leather and lining, etc.). They are indeed substantial shoes and have that "clunky" American feel to them. The only thing I dislike is the metal post in the heel, which made the shoes *extremely* slippery before I had topys installed.

I have limited experience with AE shoes, but I would say the fit is fairly generous, comparable to my Polo Darlton wingtips (C&J shoes on their 325 last).

are we talking width as a C fitting or E as in Aldens?

These are excellent shoes at a great price. Someone should buy them (if they were my size, they'd already be on my feet).

Disclaimer: No association with the seller, etc., etc.

Can you post the dimensions of the shoes? They look great.

I usually take an 11D in AE, but 10.5 in shell. I'm betting these will be too large....I believe I saw them on me ebay searches, and I considered them at the time.
