i've purchased from several int'l e-shops, TBB, Tres Bien, etc. and NEVER been assessed a fee like this...:censored:

end is notorious for customs fees. mostly for >$200 non-made in usa orders. but there have been cases where ppl were hit even though order was <$200 so its a bit random

TBS - no one has gotten hit by them afaik. so enjoy while you can

TBB - most likely order was under a certain amount or you got lucky

basically safe to assume youll get hit with customs for international orders over a certain amount and not made in USA. might want to check with the merchant beforehand as well.

I think UPS made a mistake.... but when they first attempted deliver the driver told me I owed ~$80 (on a pair of margiela gats) I told him to leave it at the delivery center and I'd go pick it up there since he could only accept checks. Go to the deliver center, I was asking about the fee and how to pay they said it has to be money order or cashiers check. They get the package and scan the tracking says I don't owe anything and hand me my package. They had removed the ship ticket (not sure if that had anything to do with it).

Its been a couple weeks haven't gotten a letter from UPS yet.

Same happened to me, sort of. Package came on a Friday with some CPs from Kafka, said I owed $52 in duties. I said to retry on Monday since I didn't have a check. They didn't come back for two weeks, but when they did UPS dropped it off at my desk and left it, duties not requested.

Beware of the taxes/duties when shopping at Oki-ni. They like to declare the prices before the discount on the parcel. I was twice the victim of that.

They refunded me the taxes during the first time but not the second time.

Got a fully-declared 300 euro parcel delivered by FEDEX from Europe the other day. No duties/taxes requested. I called FEDEX to ask what's up, and they said if they didn't request it upon delivery, "for an item of that value", they wouldn't be sending me a bill later. I was expecting to get SLAMMED by customs. Now it seems i got a pretty sweet deal.

End will declare the full retail value of the item. If it retails for $100 but you got it for $20, ENd will declare a $100.

Agreed. Let's get back to coffee and donuts.

I had coffee and donuts today while wearing Common Projects - still not sure I sized correctly (10) - that I ordered from TBS and didn't pay duties on.
