I have to go to Columbus from June 11 - 15 on business. However, my days should be over by around 4 or 5. I was wondering if anybody knew of any cool places to hit up in the area? I'm really not a huge drinker, and I'm not that into clubs. However, I love to eat at good restaurants and will eat basically any kind of cuisine (except Korean and Indian).

Oh and my girlfriend'll be coming with me, so any nice places for couples would be great too!

Suggestions?

Dublin is a suburb of Columbus. You'll be northwest of the actual city. There are a number of restaurants in Dublin, Powell, and Upper Arlington that are pretty close to you. I'd recommend venturing into the actual city.

Google Cameron Mitchell. He's an area restauranteur who's made quite a name for himself and he has a lot of restaurants in the area to suit most tastes and budgets. I'd also recommend Hartmut Handke's restaurant, The Refectory, and a number of places in the Short North.

Great, thanks for the advice. Anything I simply must see or do? What would you recommend to someone that's never been to OH before?

I spent a decent amount of time there in high school; I'd recommend taking a look at German Village, which is just east of downtown. It'd be a bit of a drive (maybe 20 min. or so), but it's got a pretty cool vibe, nice, quaint, walkable streets, and some good little cafes and restaurants. It also has a reputation as sort of a gay area, but if you aren't looking to hit up bars and clubs that shouldn't make much of a difference one way or the other. Oh, and Katzinger's Deli can hang with anything NYC has to offer. Seriously.

If you're a foodie, the North Market is worth checking out. Lots of specialty vendors with great offerings.

Old Dublin, German Village, and the North Market (and the adjacent Short North neighborhood) are all good recommendations. There are also some interesting little shops and restaurants in old Worthington and Grandview (my neighborhood). You could do worse than an evening on the block of Grandview Avenue between 3rd and 1st avenues, with dinner at Shoku or Spagio, then coffee at Stauf's or ice cream at Jeni's or a film at the Drexel.

Agree with the Katzinger statement. Schmitt's in German Village is some pretty tasty German fare. Not sure I'd call the neighborhood a destination, though.
