Both the Tudor Black Bay and the Pelagos are very nice divers, tried both recently at my local Rolex dealer (not in the US). The Black Bay was particularly handsome, with plenty of vintage feel. A very nice case! For me, the red bezel would be perfect, as I have plenty of Subs and other black-bezeled watches. To generate more sales, they probably should make a black version though.
The Pelagos didn't resonate quite as much, probably because of the material. Not a great titanium fan in watches. But the bracelet and clasp was highly functional, an inspiration to other producers of "diving" watches. Somehow I picked up a few Seiko vibes from it, not sure why. That should not necessarily be a bad thing, but still ... A Seiko Samurai would be a lot cheaper
I like the snowflake hands, but feel that the BB should have gone all snowflake.
Tudor is definitely onto something!
Since this is the watch p0rn thread, not the watch talk thread, here are pics of my late Tudor Sub 79090. Sold it as I always chose my vintage Subs from the box when it came down to it. But a fantastic watch in its own right. If you want a vintage Sub but find the Rolex too dear, this is what you get!

even when i make my own observations, i don't think i can top this due to the lack of deep knowledge you guys accumulated over the years.

If your comparing to a vintage Rolex Sub there can be a huge difference. Just depends on the vintage, the condition, the completeness, and the desireability of a particular model. In general a Tudor is a couple of thousand where a vintage sub can start at $4,000 and go up.

I understand and it's almost the same type of comparison. Except some of the vintage Rolex Subs can go a lot higher.

For that particular Tudor your probably looking at between $2000 and $3000 depending on condition and completeness.

looks fantastic. i think this is the fist time i saw a jubilee bracelet, and didnt think an oyster would look better.

but it's sad to see that their best designs/pricepoint is behind them.

im not sure i entirely agree about the design aspect. i just tried on a few and thought some of them looked great. they were mostly DJs though, not sport models. the updates they did to the DJ (not talking about the DJ II) are great i think. the heftier more substantial bracelet, and slightly more sleek case design look great.

as to price point, yeah, its a shame. i bought my DJ brand new from an AD for under 3500 not more than 5 years ago. the DJ i was looking at last month was 6600 i think. they are no longer in the "expensive, but attainable for someone who really wants one and saves up" price point anymore. what a drag. vintage may just have to be the way to go.

It actually came on the oyster, but I'm a sucker for the Jubilee bracelet with the Pepsi. I went ahead and purchased the Super Jubilee bracelet which I think was totaly worth it.

Got this a couple of weeks ago.

Liking your ROO. How have you enjoyed it so far? Sadly the Offshores look out of scale on my 6.5" wrist. I might be able to pull off the 37 mm ROO but the others (like the Panerais) just look huge on me.
