I have no doubt it's an acquired taste; I simply doubt that I will ever acquire it, at least not for that particular model. And while I can appreciate the historicity of a certain watch, historical usage alone doesn't make my esteem for the watch itself to arise. I've never been one for vicariously being an astronaut. Just kidding, no offense to anyone. If you like it, don't let my tastes stop you.

Honestly, I wouldn't go for either of those, I'd go for the new version with the 8500 movement. Developed in-house as opposed to developed around an ETA base. Only available with a super dark grey or light silver dial (for now), but I'd say it's a better watch. All the ATs are available with a deployment clasp, to my knowledge.

Yup, its the same, but I dropped mine so its getting serviced and the crown guard is being replaced...and that take 3-4 months!!!!

PS. I did buy an IWC Inge Chrono to make the pan-less peroid bearable.....
