It seems that certain shirts that i wear seem to cause my armpits to sweat more than normal.

is this common?

I'm not talking about wearing any type of exotic material either, most of my everyday clothing is 100% cotton or a 96/4 cotton-spandex blend, or sometimes polyester

are there different varieties of cotton that can cause sweating?

thanks for any help.

Heavier fabrics, synthetics (notoriously polyester), and more fitted shirts will increase sweating.

Different weaves of fabric and yarn thickness can have a impact also. With that said, 100% cotton shirts can be significantly warmer or cooler than others.

Your polyester shirts probably wont breathe as well as a cotton shirt, so it would likely increase sweating.
