My wife and I sometimes like to order a variety of fruity martinis and share and sample them. It's ok when it's just me and her. I've just learned not to do it when we are out with other people...Yes, I got picked on once.

No... that is what my 70 year old English grandmother drinks. I assume you like them too, Conne?

I like wine, but I still think this is a funny story. A bunch of the guys were in Kentucky for training prior to our last deployment. Mostly TOC rats, guys in uniform who get cooped up all day planning and replanning and then changing the plan at the last minute. For Hard Core Killers, it's an incredibly frustrating existence. So much worse when you're in Kentucky in July instead of Germany, and working out of a non-air conditioned corner of an overcrowded tent. Tensions are high but we had a good team so we bonded instead of going after each other.

One night towards the end of the month in KY, everyone gets a free night from the wargame, so decide on the natural order of things for Hard Core Killers who are in that situation--steak house and strip clubs. Twelve of us pile into a booth at the local steak joint and start ordering. Shouted orders of 24oz steaks and 24oz beers seem to be the going rate among the infantry and artillery officers at the table...until MAJ G_____ mumbles that umm, he thinks he'll try the Merlot. Hell, even Paul Giamatti knows better than that! Merlot comes, which is his right, and MAJ G_____ endures his ribbing, which is certainly his rite. Has not lived it down to this day and will not as long as he is in a unit with someone who has heard the story.

The night ended at a stripclub that may or may not have been south of the border (in Tennessee). The guys (minus MAJ G_____ at this point) bring in a 24 pack of Bud and start slamming them and pulling out the dollar bills. First stripper gets down to a bikini...and waves goodbye. This prompts another round of beers, fast. Second stripper...another bikini, this time pink. We finally ask when the good bits will come out...and get told no, sorry, we don't do that here. Seems our Hard Core Killers managed to stumble into a county where simply being naked was illegal. At the end of the 24 pack, no one noticed, and the "strippers" were friendlier than at the average meat market, so release was achieved.

But... but... James Bond ordered a Mojito in Die Another Day... then again, he also Parachuted-Surfed through a hurricane to get to a secret island.

Mimosas are gay. Margaritas are not. Margaritas are Mexican, and everybody knows that there are no gay Mexicans.
