the private sale is next week (i think). i was the in the store last week and they will place items aside for you until the sale, if you know a salesperson. the sale is 40 percent off shoes, and typically they have an additional 10 or 15 percent on one day.

Last year, the private sale began May 18th with an additional 15% off for online purchases. There were numerous people who were able to get the 40% + 15% off at the stores, some even before the sale had officially started.

I, on the other hand, have yet to get Polo to sell me much of anything during the sale. I've repeatedly tried to get two different PL shoes on sale, yet have obtained neither. Much better luck with GVH.

they will typically give you the 40% + 15% up to a week before the actual private (the private private sale?). the trick is to go now, find what you want, and then allow them to order the item from another store if they don't have your size. i agree that GVH is rad too.

also if you buy something at the RL store and give them your address, you will receive sale notices and all sorts of other stuff like catalogs.

I think the pre-sale begins this weekend (May 12th). Because I'll be out of the country, I've already made arrangements with my salesperson at the Chevy Chase, Maryland store to purchase a suit, cashmere blazer, and some shirts and ties (40% off), as well as some home items.

I just received a letter from RL this morning. 40% off sale starts the 17th with an extra 15% on 1-2 of the days around there (can't remember which).
Will update when I get home and actually read the letter again.
Unfortunately, the shoe selection at my local RL (Palo Alto) sucks.........

I may have missed this, so apologies if that is the case, but would the 40% apply to everything? Or just to selected items?
